Try your bestMar 20 2010English
Try your best. Ohio Wesleyan admits a lot of people, but many end up leaving because they can't handle the work. If your top 35% of the class, have an ACT of at least 25 and a GPA of at least 3.0, you'll get in. For scholarships, aim for top 15%, 3.6 GPA, and 28 ACT.

Ohio Wesleyan accepts anyone with certain combinations of classFeb 17 2010English
Ohio Wesleyan accepts anyone with certain combinations of class rank, GPA, and ACT/SAT scores. For example, I'm 6th of my class, have a 3.92/4.0 GPA, and obtained a 30 on the ACT both times I took it (31 superscore!). My friends, on the other hand got in with these stats: 24 ACT, 13th of Class, 3.7-ish GPA; 22 ACT, 30-ish in class rank, 3.5 GPA. The latter was told she was an exception, that the University only admitted her because her GPA outweighed her ACT score.

Simply put, a lot of people think OWU lets "anybody" in; this is true to some degree, but you can assume all that people that get in have some sort of intelligence and respectable work ethic.

In order to get into the honors program, however, you need to meet 2 of 3 factors: top 10%, 27-36 on the ACT, or GPA of 3.5 and above. My friend didn't meet the ACT requirement but was invited to the program.

Apply, about 60% of the students get in andDec 25 2009Business - Management and Administration
Apply, about 60% of the students get in and over 90% receive some form of financial aid. Before going to OWU, do an over night stay. Most students do it in the spring, but i recommend the students do it in the winter. Winter takes up much more of the time at OWU than does the Spring.

If you want to go to OWU, make sureOct 15 2009Unknown
If you want to go to OWU, make sure you get involved in student activities and know your professors. This is true anywhere, but it will definitely make a difference in your experience.
And don't forget their study abroad policies are stricter than most schools. If you want to do a program outside of the few you can choose from, be prepared to pay for it out of your pocket and cut through red-tape administration policies.

OWU has a reputation as "not hard to getMay 07 2009Psychology
OWU has a reputation as "not hard to get into but hard to stay in." This is true. Their acceptance rate might be on the higher side, but you really have to work once you are here. My roommate flunked out freshman year...
